This year I have learnt how to use some social tools and link them together to my main blog WordPress. Here are the ones we used: 43 things, 43 places, community walk, flickr .
- We participated in the ECML project at the begining of the year but then we changed to WordPress because it ended. There were many school around Europe writing there as well so we communicated with them.
- Bloglines is an aggregator, which means you can see and read others blogs from other people and comment directly from one page on bloglines.
- Del.icio.us is a tool which allows you to archive your favourite bookmarks online and share them with others.
- 43 things and 43 places are social tools which allow us to discuss about a thing that you can do or you did and a place that you want to visit or you have visited. People can post comments and photographs.
- Community Walk is a map where you can add markers to a place that you always go, write about it and add photos, video and sound.
- Flickr is a tool where you store photos and you are allowed to use other people´s as long as they are under a Creative Commons Licence.
- WordPress is a blog where you can post your impressions and people can comment on it.
43 places is a very interesting tool because you can see photos from the places that you want to visit and people know more about them. The disadvantage is that there are a lot of communities from the same city or place. I love the tool Community Walk because you can find places (your house, your school…) that you usually visit and it is amazing. The advantage of Flickr is that you can use photos to put on your blog,
For classes to come we could learn how to work on the bubble site, a Flickr toy. This is a tool that allows you to insert bubbles (dialogues, sentences …) to your photo.
